Brand new Women’s Rugby 7’s starting at Strathfield. Strathfield Women’s Rugby Club (SWRC) became an officially registered 7s Rugby Club in 2019 but couldn’t kick-off due to COVID-19. We, however, join the long proud history of St Patricks Rugby Club which was established in 1964. The Board is excited about a new era of women Rugby and is getting heavily involved in driving its success.
As a branch of St Patrick’s Rugby Club, the SWRC is the first women’s rugby 7s team ever based in Strathfield. Filled with experienced level 4 coaches, whether you’re in it to win it, or just happy to have a run around and some fun, you will get what you need.
We play all around the city against other clubs but you don’t have to commit to every weekend, we want more women in rugby, so, we work your availability. Since 1980, our home ground is Hudson Park, Strathfield, which we have access to all year round. So come down on a Tuesday or Thursday night and find out more about how to turn your love of rugby into your new sport.

Rugby is a global game for people of all ages, genders, sizes, and abilities with a number of different formats on offer. Rugby is a physical sport requiring speed, agility, and good coordination.
Rugby 7’s is a fast format of the game. It’s all about having fun with friends and family while playing a less rough version of the game in good spirit.
Some day through passion, SWRC aspires to send its players to the top of the game and perhaps even represent our Nation at an Olympics. But till then we want more women in rugby!
Our Team
As a newly established team, our women’s 7s team will be eager to prove themselves. Training will be on Tuesdays & Thursdays, and whilst not compulsory, we’d love to see you there. If you’re thinking about joining, we’re always looking for more teammates to join our lineup!
